FVCOM is designed to explore complex estuarine and ocean problems over varying spatial and time scales. Our research covers a broad area, including 1) estuaries: the Satilla, Ogeechee, and Altamaha Rivers, GA; the Okatee/Colleton River, SC; Plum Island Sound and the Merrimack River, MA; the Changjiang River in the East China Sea (ECS); the Pearl River and Deep Bay in the South China Sea (SCS); 2) the regional coastal ocean the Bohai Sea, the ECS, Jiaozhou Bay in the Bohai Sea, the SCS in the western Pacific Ocean; Cook Inlet in Alaska,  the Gulf of Maine/Georges Bank, Louisiana-Texas Shelf, Massachusetts Bay, Nantucket Sound, Narragansetts Bay/Mount Hope Bay, and South Atlantic Bight (SAB) in the western Atlantic Ocean; Arabian Gulf-Sea of Oman and the Red Sea in the Indian Ocean, the Arctic Ocean, the Global Ocean, Lake Superior, Lake Michigan.
